The head of the Golden Globes organization is expressing a strong desire for comedian Nikki Glaser to return as the host for the 2027 ceremony. Producer Glenn Weiss has praised Glaser, calling her "the ideal host" for the prestigious awards event, which this year marked her second consecutive appearance in that role.
Weiss shared his thoughts with Variety, stating that although discussions about future events are not currently underway, he genuinely hopes to see Glaser back on stage. He elaborated that she has seamlessly integrated into the fabric of the awards show, noting, "We are all focused on this year. But if you ask me what's in my heart, I certainly hope so."
He further commended Glaser's talents and work ethic, declaring her as someone who has truly discovered her niche within the event. "Nikki is an incredible talent, and I believe she fits perfectly as our host," Weiss remarked. He noted her dedication, emphasizing, "She is one of the most hardworking individuals I've encountered in this industry. She genuinely cares about her craft."
Glaser's commitment was evident in her preparation, as Weiss pointed out how she consistently rehearses and adapts her material, even making changes right up until the live broadcast begins. "I have to give her major credit—not just for her humor but for her relentless effort and for being such a wonderful fit for this role," he added.
At the show's outset, Glaser made headlines by delivering a sharp critique of CBS News, the network airing the ceremony, during her opening monologue. She humorously remarked, "The award for most editing goes to CBS News. Yes, CBS News: America’s newest place to 'see BS news.'"
When questioned about any potential backlash from CBS regarding her comments, producer Ricky Kirshner explained, "Starting with a self-deprecating joke about her own plastic surgery sets a tone of harmlessness. I was seated next to a CBS executive during rehearsal. Glenn had heard that joke circulating in clubs all week, but it was our first time hearing it on rehearsal day. When she delivered it, I glanced at the CBS exec, who texted a few people saying, 'Yeah, it’s okay. It's fine.' "
In essence, the Golden Globes team appears to be thrilled with Glaser's hosting abilities, and her potential return in 2027 is something many are eagerly anticipating. What do you think? Should she host again, or would you prefer someone else to take the stage? Let us know your thoughts!
