The world of horror films often captivates audiences with its intriguing characters, and the beloved franchise, The Strangers, has consistently been characterized by its trio of enigmatic antagonists: the Man in the Mask (later referred to as Scarecrow), Dollface, and the Pin-Up Girl. However, in an exciting twist for fans, the recently rebooted trilogy has introduced two additional masked villains that were originally planned but ultimately left out of the final cut.
Producer Courtney Solomon shared some thrilling news with Dread Central, revealing that these newly conceived killers, named Ghost Skull and Witch Face, were filmed for the trilogy but did not make it into the theatrical release. Solomon stated, "There were actually in the original version two new Strangers that were actually shot and fully in the movies. One was called Ghost Skull. The other one was Witch Face. We filmed them. They’re going to be included in the extras."
According to reports from Dread Central, these intriguing extras are slated to be featured in a supercut version of The Strangers trilogy, which is set to compile all three installments into a single extended film. Solomon aims to present this comprehensive cut in theaters before it becomes available on digital and physical media platforms. He elaborated, "In redoing and working on these movies, the reshoots, the original stuff, whatever, we have so much deleted material. What I’ve pitched is we’d like to do a theatrical for those fans that want to enjoy it theatrically, doing that for a week or two."
As the trilogy reaches its climax, The Strangers: Chapter 3 is set to hit theaters on February 6, courtesy of Lionsgate. This final installment promises a gripping conclusion as Madelaine Petsch reprises her role as Maya, who embarks on a long-awaited quest for vengeance against the masked killers that haunt her.
Once again, Renny Harlin, known for his work on classics like Deep Blue Sea and Die Hard, takes the helm as director, collaborating with screenwriters Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland to bring this chilling saga to a close.
